Kansas City NARI Celebrates Women in Construction Week

Each Spring we recognize Women in Construction Week (WICW) to highlight the contributions of women in the construction industry and raise awareness of the opportunities and growing role women have in it. As the week comes to a close, we want to commend all of the women working in the construction industry and encourage more women to consider careers in this profession. There are so many exciting construction and design career paths, including architects, executives, sales, designers, contractors, business owners, project managers, carpenters, electricians and plumbers!

Meet Mary Thompson, co-owner of a successful residential remodeling company, Architectural Craftsmen. Mary manages sales, design and business operations for the company, while her husband Joe oversees on-site job management for the company. Mary has 40 years of experience in the residential design and build field and has earned a host of professional National Association of Remodeling (NARI) certifications including Certified Remodeler (CR), Certified Remodeling Project Manager (CRPM), and Universal Certified Designated Professional (UCDP).

Mary joined NARI in 2009, currently serving on the Board of Directors, chair of the Finance committee, and is a member of both the Strategic Planning committee and the Staffing committee. Previously, Mary served as Chair of the Advocacy Committee and Chair of the Remodeling Committee. Mary’s design projects have earned numerous awards and recognition, including REMY and Coty awards consistently since 2010, the Star Award for Remodeling and recognition by Kansas City Homes & Style magazine as a StyleMaker. Please join us in congratulating Mary on her successful career in remodeling and sharing her leadership talents with KC NARI.

Thank you for being a very important part of this industry.
