2023 Community Service Project

Merriam, Kansas – The Past Presidents Council of our Association has committed to support one of our member’s, Martanne Construction, with a remodeling project for the Healing House.

This home is being remodeled in honor of Erin Langhofer, a social worker dedicated to working with victims of domestic violence.  The Do Good for Erin Foundation was formed after Erin was killed by a stray bullet in August of 2019.  Once completed, Erin’s House, will provide six women and their children, in substance abuse recovery, who are domestic violence survivors, a safe and comforting home to rebuild their lives together.

The Past President Council is asking for support of the Association’s members by discounting and donating time, materials and expertise in the following area:

  • Siding
  • Roofing
  • Painting
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Insulation
  • Drywall
  • Flooring
  • Lumber
  • Tile
  • Vanities, mirrors, toilets
  • Lighting, plug switches, finish electrical work
  • Plumbing fixtures, shower trim kits
  • Kitchen cabinets
  • Countertops

WHO WE ARE
Our Association is a non-profit 501c6 membership trade association committed to raising the standards of professionalism within the remodeling industry.  We represent all facets of the remodeling industry with an emphasis on residential remodeling.  Through its various programs, our Association promotes training and a highly professional, responsible image of the remodeling profession.  Association members must abide to remodeling professional ethics, and they work collaboratively to protect the homeowners from a bad remodeling experience.

Our Association’s primary members are residential remodeling general and specialty contractor companies.  The membership includes a diverse group of businesses that offer products and services to the remodeling industry that support the remodeling general and specialty contractors, which includes accountants, lenders, suppliers, manufacturers, marketing, insurance agents, etc.  Members attend the Association’s events looking for information on best practices and ways to deliver more value to their careers, their business, their employees, and their customers.

HEALING HOUSE
Healing House Inc. is a substance use disorder recovery organization whose mission is to enrich the lives and spiritual well-being of all they serve and improve the safety and welfare of our community by equipping their residents with resources to maintain healthy, self-sufficient and purposeful lives.

Since 2002, Healing House has provided recovery housing and support that assists both men and women to experience long-term recovery from substance use disorders.  Currently, Healing House serves 230 men, women and children who reside in 14 private homes and two apartment buildings.  Last year, they helped more than 1,100 individuals on the road to recovery and meaningful substance abuse-free lives. DO GOOD FOR ERIN FOUNDATION
