Meet Judy Transue — KC NARI’s 2020 Chapter President

Judy Transue, CR, CRPM, Managing Partner at CHC Design-Build, has been elected president of the Kansas City National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) chapter for 2020.

Transue attended the University of Central Missouri and graduated with a BS in Computer Information Systems. She began her career with Hallmark Cards as an Information Technology Professional where she worked for more than 20 years.

In 2005, Transue partnered with her husband Kevin Transue, CR, as Managing Partner of CHC Design-Build. CHC Design-Build is a nationally recognized, award-winning full-service residential design-build company located in Lenexa, Kan., and primarily serves Johnson County, Kan. Transue is recognized for her certifications as a Certified Remodeling Project Manager (CRPM) and a Certified Remodeler (CR). She is one of only a few of female Certified Remodelers in the nation. At CHC Design-Build, Transue utilizes three decades of business leadership experience to keep the business running smoothly and her expertise in remodeling to keep production running smoothly.

Through the company membership of CHC Design-Build, Transue has been active with Kansas City NARI for many years and has served on the board of directors for 10 years. During that time, she founded the Advocacy Committee and has previously served as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, Advocacy Committee and Remodeled Homes Tour Committee. She will serve as the KC NARI Chair in 2021.

As president, Transue is passionate about the value of KC NARI membership and especially its benefits for small businesses. “The benefits of membership in KC NARI are unparalleled. The industry-leading news, research and education that NARI provides is invaluable to anyone in the remodeling industry,” said Transue. “Additionally, networking with other NARI companies and suppliers is a great resource for small businesses.”

Kansas City NARI is a local chapter of NARI, a national professional association whose members voluntarily subscribe to a strict code of ethics. Consumers may wish to search to find a qualified remodeler who is a member of NARI.

The remodeling market, a $275 billion industry in the U.S., is projected to continue to grow as the U.S. housing stock ages.  It is estimated that more than a million homes per year undergo major renovation or remodeling.
