Special Announcement Regarding the 2020 Remodeled Homes Tour
After much deliberation, we have decided to cancel the Kansas City NARI 2020 Remodeled Homes Tour. We know that many look forward to attending our annual signature event, however the health and safety of our homeowners, members and event attendees is of utmost importance during this unprecedented time. Due to the uncertainty of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Remodeled Homes Tour Committee felt this was the right decision.
Postpone vs. Online vs. Safety
We explored many options for modifying the tour so it could take place in 2020. Initially we postponed the event from the Spring to Fall 2020, hoping that the COVID-19 pandemic would subside enough for the event to take place. In light of recent COVID-related spikes in the Kansas City metro – unfortunately this is not the case.
We also explored the idea of a “virtual tour” – however the craftsmanship and high-quality work of NARI professionals is something that – we feel – can only be experienced in-person. Many often sacrifice real craftsmanship at the altar of expediency. However, KC NARI did not want to compromise on the level of excellence and attention to detail by replacing the tour with a virtual experience.
Finally, the Remodeled Homes Tour is unlike any other local home tour because people currently LIVE in the homes. The homeowners of the newly remodeled homes selflessly open their doors so that tour attendees can view and experience the outstanding results remodeling can make. Keeping these homeowners and their families safe is also of paramount importance – and yet another reason why we made this difficult decision.
