This downtown condo screamed 1980!  The owner, a young professional, wanted a complete transformation of his home.  Our design team brought about a complete renovation of this condo from small and dark to open, bright and airy.  Using 18” slate tile, custom built maple cabinetry and quartz counter tops, the kitchen was updated to a contemporary design that is both functional and beautiful.  The transformation of the main living spaces and bathrooms in this condo make it one of a kind.

Condo Remodel

This historic 2,500 square-foot Greenlease Cadillac Building condominium was a true design/build collaboration.  Metzler Remodeling and Kyle Wells Design teamed up to make this a stunning transformation.  Originally built in 1918 as a car dealership and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building was converted in 2006 into individual condos, featuring thick octagonal columns and 10-foot ceilings.  The space was completely re-envisioned and remodeled to create the look of a New York townhouse.  Numerous enhancements were made, including an elevated kitchen designed to accommodate a new layout, an expanded master bath and a reconfigured guest suite and office.  Every room is a showpiece and sure to be a delight!

Master Bath Remodel

The homeowners dreamed of a master bath with his and hers sinks, a full size shower, updated finishes and space for laundry on the second floor; but they did not want to increase the footprint of their home.  We transformed a small, existing full bath and adjacent sitting room into one open and well appointed space.   The black marble counter top with two vessel sinks, mosaic tile floors, and a shower with bench seat and heated floors create a sense of timeless luxury.  Pull-out baskets for sorting and storing laundry and supplies are concealed within the built-in cabinets.

Bath Remodel

Whole House Remodel

This home in Westwood, KS, was purchased for the purpose of creating and accommodating the needs of an empty-nest baby boomer.  R3 Home Renovation designed and renovated the home with the following considerations in mind: an abundance of natural light, one single level, a master suite, a two-car garage, a library and a useful kitchen.  With no children living at home, our client just needed enough space to accommodate out-of-town guests, a space to work and a place to enjoy reading and greeting guests. Room Addition

We built a vaulted room addition which virtually tripled the original kitchen. There are beautiful hardwood floors, new cabinetry with many of the most sought after amenities and built-ins, granite counter tops with a glass tile back splash and accents. The new lighting includes the prodigious use of recessed lighting, over and under cabinet lighting and hand blown pendants. Kitchen Remodel

The kitchen of this 1950’s JC Nichols home in Prairie Village was transformed from dark, dreary and dated into a beautifully light and airy hub of this busy multi-generational household! Some existing cabinets were modified to fit a larger refrigerator, then all were refaced in a prefinished glazed maple, with the window trimmed out to match. Paneled wainscoting was removed and crown molding installed along with granite countertops, a natural stone tile backsplash with metallic accents, and a beautiful tile floor. New lighting fixtures, including under cabinet task lights, completed this kitchen makeover worthy of any design magazine!

Entire Main Floor Remodel

The centerpiece of this first-floor makeover is the kitchen, featured in the January KCH&G magazine article, “10 Dream Kitchens.” Because the owner loves cooking and entertaining, it was expanded dramatically, joining with the breakfast and living rooms. We concealed two structural beams in the ceiling enabling the three rooms to be unified. A substantial hood, (with spice storage hidden in the posts), hovers over a six-burner stove with griddle. A larger window over the sink adds light to a room that is rich with coffee stained cabinets and light granite counters. Reversed colors are used on an island that adds prep space and has a warming drawer.  The wraparound bar extends into the remodeled family room, with a new fireplace mantle and built-in cabinets.

Room Addition

This 1968 Overland Park home features an 8’ room addition, expanding the cramped kitchen space and adding a walk-in pantry. Removing the wall between the totally renovated kitchen and the family room has created a bright, free flowing space for friends and family. The formal living and dining room has been re-created with new windows, a custom window seat, plantation shutters and display book cases all painted dazzling white against slate blue walls. Art work and photos rotate regularly along special display shelves above a new custom sofa, creating an ever changing landscape in a room enjoyed by all.

Kitchen Remodel
