This Blue Springs home includes a gorgeous custom kitchen, laundry room, library, dining room and baths. The custom maple cabinetry throughout is a big part of the remarkable transformation from house to “dream home.” The counter tops highlight each specific area with granite in the kitchen, Onyx in the baths and laminate in the library. Oak hardwood flooring prevails throughout the library, dining room and kitchen. In the family room, walnut flooring was revived from years of carpet. This beautifully detailed home is a great example of getting the most for your money and is a must see on the tour. |

This 1940’s kitchen was in desperate need of remodeling due to out dated décor and dysfunctional layout. The new home owners wanted to open up the floor plan. Our staff architect’s design required removing 2 load bearing walls, expanding the kitchen into the garage, opening up to the adjacent dining room and old breakfast room. The large center island looks like furniture; a computer hutch provides communications and TV viewing. The custom cabinets are a mixture of painted with a glazed finish and stained alder. Other finishes include Silestone countertops, slate tile back splash with metal rosette inserts, and all new stainless steel appliances. |

| “It can’t be done.” That’s what other remodelers told this homeowner in the past when she wanted to remove structural walls to open up the kitchen of her 1920’s home. We were able to create the open, farmhouse-style kitchen she dreamed of by concealing two new steel beams in the ceiling. A large, custom, cherry table with drawers on one side doubles as a well-used work space, in the heart of this kitchen. The table plus many conveniences - a farmhouse sink, 2 ovens, granite counters, subway tile, a pantry and a powder room - make cooking and being together delightful for family and friends. |

| Come see this beautiful three-story home along Ward Parkway. The homeowners wanted an updated kitchen while maintaining the traditional feel of this classic turn of the century home. The revised floor plan provides a large open space, better workflow and room for a full size breakfast table. A mudroom was added for functional storage. Old and new are blended nicely throughout the space by utilizing a combination of stained wood and painted cabinets, granite tops, decorative moulding, ornate tile, and reproduction period lighting. The pumpkin colored French range and a fireplace both put the finishing touches on this lovely chef’s retreat. Exterior painting, new metal roofs, a master suite, and three bath remodels were completed in earlier phases of the project. |

| This 1920’s house features an amazing kitchen transformation achieved without a room addition!! The maze-like layout of small rooms and spaces was transformed into a large and inviting kitchen. Removing the interior walls and improving the floor plan paved the way for a much needed mud room, while a new side entrance to the patio floods the room with light and invites indoor/outdoor living. The new kitchen plan creates better first floor circulation to the adjacent rooms – for a family who enjoys cooking and entertaining, this kitchen does the job! Unique finishes and details finish off this beautiful and functional kitchen. Don’t miss it!! |

| The kitchen remodel challenge for this stately home was to consolidate a century of life into the present. The homeowners’ desire for stylistic and functional aspects of modernity was balanced by their appreciation for the home’s architectural elegance. Lyon Construction+Design chose cabinetry of clean, contemporary design crafted from beautiful woods that reflect the home’s heritage. Appliances and fixtures in understated brushed finishes added contemporary appeal without distraction. Bold drama was introduced to the room’s otherwise neutral palette through the backsplash. It incorporates a striking mix of color and texture in hand-made tiles that are white with Bordeaux accents. |

| Transforming this 1990’s Johnson County home began in the entry where new wrought iron spindles and oak stair treads update the multi-level staircase. Next, an under used parlor became a formal dining room featuring 9” crown molding and magnificent 8’ Craftsman Style sliding maple doors. When they open…Viola!... the dining room expands into the new “Fave” room – the study. It features a slate fireplace and flat screen TV. The pièce de résistance is the amazing kitchen with rich maple cabinets and a dark cherry hood and hutch. Dramatic Copper Silk granite tops and copper accented tile backsplash complete the look. |
